John Kijowski is Vice President and Market Manager of Hubbard Radio St. Louis. Having spent most of his career in the Gateway City, he is comfortable to call St. Louis home and he carries a passion for serving this region through broadcast.
Mr. Kijowski received his degree from St. Louis’ The Broadcast Center, and his career spans nearly three decades in sales and broadcast management. He has worked for some of the top broadcast companies in the region and has overseen the operation of more than a dozen radio stations, including 101 ESPN, 106.5 THE ARCH, which launched in a cloak of secrecy over a three-day period and quickly became one of the top, most successful stations in the country and has been for the past three years, 92.3 WIL-FM, to name a few. In the early ’90s, he also managed the launch of the successful alternative pop-culture radio hit, 105.7 THE POINT (KPNT).
His success carried over at THE POINT, and many of its sister stations became part of the Sinclair Broadcast Group. During his tenure there, John served as a Director of Sales prior to becoming a General Manager for two of the company’s stations in 1998. In that year he became the Market Manager for the entire radio division in St. Louis.
October 2000 marked the dawning of a new era in St. Louis broadcast radio, when Mr. Kijowski accepted a position as Vice President and Market Manager with Bonneville International. He currently holds the same position with Hubbard Radio. He and the St. Louis team have embarked on a huge community service campaign, both in on-air PSAs and in volunteer work throughout the St. Louis community. They are indeed making huge a difference in St. Louis!
